How do you Go First-Person? Sorry I'm bad at controls-

No, it's fine!! I made it a bit confusing. You have to unlock the first person skin by playing through the second level, and then you have to select it under Extras in the Main Menu.

(+1)

Thank you very much- I just beat the second level- For me Devil boss was so hard-

A lot of people struggle with that boss, maybe I made it a bit too hard. Hope you have fun with the skin!!!

I really loved the graphical style and design, though I felt the gamefeel was off, since the jump felt floaty and the combat was not very responsive. Ultimately though, this game is great, especially for a gamejam game.

(+1)

I agree, Im not the best when it comes to making the gameplay side of a game feel 100% right. Thank you so much for still enjoying it!!

(+1)

this game seems like it should be ported to dreamcast

(+1)

Dreamcast games were a big inspiration especially when it came to the look of the game!!

(+2)

pls  release it for linux.

I can Try but I cannot guarantee that everything will work!

(+2)

Uploaded A Linux version but I don't know if it will work, If you notice anything weird pls let me know!

(2 edits) (+1)

it works but once the game is launched, I have a black screen for 20 seconds and then it would load into the Main Menu. Trough the entire game I had no sound or music even when I maxed out the slide bar in Settings. That's all of issues I had.

PS.

did you only need to click on a checkbox to make the entire game into a .x86 extension?

thanks again for the linux port!

Im going too look into those issues thank you so much for letting me know,

also can I message you again if I update the linux version so you can check if those 2 issues are gone? If not that would also be compleatly fine!

I basically had to click a checkbox to create the linux version but because I cant playtest mac or linux versions and check if everything works correctly I rarely create them.

(+1)

of course you can! I would be glad to give you further feedback to make it a seamless port.

(+1)

Thank you so much!!

(+1)

Apparently, the Linux version works fine with Ubuntu 20.04 but I'm not an expert on anything Linux-related so I'm not even sure if that helps in any shape or form.

(+1)

This game is AWESOME. 10/10

Hope it have another updates in the future, probably the most fun and creative 3D platformer I've ever played  \(>_<)/

Thank you so much for the compliments!!! I'm really glad you enjoyed it that much!! Currently, I would say I'm finished with Devil Catcher but I would like to revisit it sometime in the future!

(+1)

Cool game :3

Thank you!!!

(1 edit) (-1)

God this game is so good but it could be better... Anyway, it's fine!

(+1)

Do you mean the game is fine or that it's not as good as it could be is fine? and what exactly do you think needs improvement?

(+2)

This was very adorable! I wasn't sure how I'd do with platforming on my keyboard at first, but it was incredibly smooth. The music was quite a bop to listen to, and the art was super cute. I didn't expect upgrades at all, so they really mixed things up as well! Props to the developers!

Thank you so much for enjoying my game! I really enjoyed your Let's Play and I'm Glad you played through the whole game! The game doesn't have Controller Support because Its a whole can of worms that I never touched

I couldn't even imagine the work that goes into it, so I can definitely believe it haha. Was a very fantastic ride regardless!

(+1)

story. now.

Do you want to know the story of the game?

yes

(+2)

So basically the angel acted Unholy in Heaven, therefore, she was banished by God to the space in between Heaven and hell. This was to see if she will change her behavior. But instead she is only interested in taking revenge and travels out of Limbo. There she meets her Equal, the devil boss, who is the protector of the entrance into Heaven. They fight and the Angel defeats the Devil. She travels to the throne of God and Defeats him too, absorbing a bit of his power and becoming the new Ruler of Heaven.
Hope that explanation was mildly interesting!

(-1)

I feel like this game is trying to please beat em up fans while also pleasing platformer fans

so it just dumbs down both gameplay styles

you have no real attacks that require combinations to perform yet the enemies are still just as mushy as in a beat em up

the platforming is mindless and souless with basically nothing and the minimum devils to beat is a weird and bad idea making speedrunning tedious

(+1)

I finally got my hands on version 2.2 and my friend, how the game has evolved a lot. Everything here is sensational. I wish this game became a huge game with potential. Congratulations, man.

Thank you so much! I'm so glad you came back to play version 2.2!! Thank you for the compliments and the encouragement!

(+3)

This was so much fun! The character designs and environment are amazing! I love the platforming segments, although the character sliding when landing on a platform caught me a bit off guard. The boss fights were excellent; not too easy but not too challenging! I loved the mechanic of using the gun to hit targets to move platforms, especially the part where you need to step on the platform to make the target visible. I'd love to see a fully fleshed out version of this, great work!

(+1)

Thank you so so much for all the compliments!!! Your comment is really encouraging and I don't really know how to respond other than to say thank you!!!
I might make a similar game in the future or a sequel or something but I think this is it for this game!

(+1)

No problem at all, really hoping your work gets more recognition since it definitely deserves it! Looking forward to what you end up making in the future! :)

(+2)

Fun game here's a speedrun

(+1)

Thats so awesome!! I love it!!

(+1)

me gusta

Nice!!!

(+1)

was playing the god boss but i couldnt use my gun?? like it just kept the lil hammer. :(

You can switch between the hammer and gun by pressing Q or using the scroll wheel! sorry for the confusion

(+1)

it worked ty! very fun game pls make more content :)

Thank you so much!!! glad you enjoyed it!

(+2)

I love this game! I really like the art style. It would be nice if you add controller support.

(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm currently trying to figure out how to implement controller support for my new project, If I figure it out I will update this game with it but I can't guarantee anything.

(1 edit) (+3)

Cute, love the aesthetic! Wish the main character had more moves though. 8/10!

(+1)

Thank you!!!

(+1)

I did a run of Version 2.0

Love the improvements and love the music

(+1)

Hey! nice 2.0 update. Playing through it felt really refreshing and fun. The only problems I encountered were how the bosses didn't have any HP bar so it felt like I were hitting them forever LOL. But great job, keep making stuff it's all very entertaining.

Thank you so much!! Glad you enjoyed it! I thought about giving the bosses health bars and if it would even be necessary but I might actually add some!

(+1)

Awesome game. I really loved the double jump upgrade. Keep up the good work!

Thank you!!

(+1)(-1)

Nice!

(+1)

😊👍

With the crazed character and bright colors, Devil Catcher easily caught my eye. Gameplay wise, it's a fairly standard 3D platformer, although it did have a certain nostalgic feel to it as I hopped around, trying not to fall to my doom, and whacking guys with my weapon. I could easily see this having a few extra stages to just hop & bop in. Maybe some off the wall flying minigame involving a holy jet fighter.

Good job, dev.

Thank you so much for the compliments!! Your Commentary was also extremely inciteful and will hopefully help me improve the game in small ways I didn't think of before so thank you so much!!

(+1)

And thank you for making the game. Always glad to give helpful feedback.

Show post...

cool arcade

(+2)

It's quite beautiful, I think aesthetics is what the soul puts into it, the problem is that i always take damage when I try to hit the demons, even if i'm not too much close.

(+2)

Thank you for the compliments!! Im currently working on the combat system because it is very underdevelopt!

miren,como esta

The images are aesthetic: D

someone wants to pass an image to if they put them in the profile?
(+1)

lovely aesthetic!

(+1)

Thank you!! and also thank you for the nice review!!

I also like the aesthetic
(+1)

Pretty fun overall experience. I do think with a little bit of polish, you could easily build this into a full on game (I think adding in elements like Ape Escape so you have to beat the devils before you catch them). I do hope this project becomes fully realized as there is a lot of potential. Great work!

Thank you so much!! Gonna need to play Ape Escape! I don't think I will make this a full game but I would like to add at least one level and definitely a boss fight!

(+1)

I mean any additional content would most certainly be welcome for sure. I do hope I get to see more of these stylized projects in the future! Can't wait for more!

(+1)

muy buen juego
(+1)

this game is the first non horror game on https://itch.io/games/free/platform-windows/tag-3d

lol :L

My god you are right!!!

i am XD

(1 edit) (+2)

Thanks for this game ! Love the visual and audio style of it!

The circle beneath us when we jump makes it really great as we know where we will land.

However, I have found it a bit misleading at first that by keep pressing the spacebar button, whenever we touch the ground we jump again (and that made me fall sometimes xD)

Anyway, that was cool :)

Thank you so so much for the nice compliments. I'm glad you enjoyed the game so much and thank you for the 5 stars!!!
I'm a bit confused what you mean with the jump, so if you want to explain it further  I would greatly appreciate it so I can improve the jump in a future update but if not that would be also fine!!

(2 edits) (+1)

Of course !

For example, in classic platformer there's a mechanic where by pressing the jump button longer (or by simply holding it), you make a "bigger" jump, where you go farer.

In your game, that is not the case, the height and the distance of the jump is the same regardless of whether you hold the jump button or just press it.

In my playthrough, when doing long jumps, I kept holding the spacebar button during the jump. But as soon as I landed, because the jump button was still holding, the character jumped automatically again and for the tiny platforms, that made me fall sometimes ^^

Hope it was more clear!

(+1)

Oh, you are correct didn't even think of that! thank you for letting me know!!! Gonna experiment a bit and see if I get a better result or not!!

(+1)

it's a good game, the esthetic is very good and the music very funny nice work!!

(+1)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!!!

(+2)

Good game. Nice visuals.

Thanks!!

(+1)

Muy entretenido y me encanta el diseñ

(+1)

thank you!!

(+2)

Amazing mechanics and art style great game

(+2)

Imagine a world where the cover of a game accurately displays on what you can expect... Visually, the game matches the original design 1:1, love it! The funky colors and the dot-style shadows really make it pop!
